And now for some pictures...
Isn't she a pretty pregger?! This is Shari just a day before the boys were delivered (compare with the last picture-only about a week or two before). It got to be pretty difficult telling the difference between the smile you see here and the several winces and grimaces I got in the days and weeks leading up to delivery...
Although I was looking forward to observing every part of the delivery (via Cesarean), both the anesthesiologist and Shari (having already lost her lunch once) insisted that I stay on her side of the curtain for moral support. I did, however, get to peek around the curtain to see the boys come out!
First came Alex at 7:26 p.m. He weighed 5 pounds, 11 ounces, and measured 19 inches in length. The bigger of the two, Alex has, so far, been the more easy-going and spends most of his time sleeping. I've been told that with twins, one is more calm, the other a little more lively...
Next, came Aidan at 7:27 p.m. He was 5 pounds, 7 ounces and 17 1/2 inches long. Aidan decided to give the interns something to worry about with his elevated respiratory rate and drop in blood pressure. After a day of observation, he was released to us from the NICU late yesterday afternoon. Aidan is a little fireball. It's only fitting that his name is Irish for "a fiery young man". He was the more active in Momma's belly and, as you can see, is definitely been more of a character so far...

IT'S ABOUT TIME! Gosh, you act like you have a few children to take care of now days...jk...but, it is good to finally see some pictures! I love how shari STILL looks pretty in the picture with Alex...not fair!! I'm glad that everything went well. Hopefully things continue to go well. Let me know if you need ANYTHING (like if you need a babysitter....) They are cute kids. The first one of Aidan is pretty funny too. Congrats. Can't wait to see more pics! Love you guys!

Thanks for posting. I am a little emotional after reading that and can't wait to see these little grandbabies in person. Little Aidan with his hands behind his head looking so content is soooo funny. (lots of personality) I can't wait to hold them. If these little boys turn out to be as good and awesome as their mom and dad are, we will be grateful. Love the post Ben. Congratulations! I love the names. They both look great! So big for twins. My favorite picture, though, is the one of you and Ben. I love the way he's looking at you. Husbands always gain a new love and appreciation for their wives when they bring new life into the world. And you can see that in Ben's eyes.

Shari you look so beautiful in your pictures. Only you can wear a hair cap and still come out looking beautiful and radiant. So Shari, I hate to say it...but, I told you they would be born Sunday night!!!!! hehehehehe I just didn't anticipate you being in so much pain during church. I still can't believe how strong and amazing you are to be going and going...and going up to the very end!!! AMAZING! Can't wait to meet the little ones!

For Shari who doesn't know me...my name is Daisha and I am a friend of Ben's from Tri-Cities. I only knew him for about a year or so after I was baptized and before he left on his mission but I wanted to say contratulations! Your kids are beautiful!!! I just had my second in October so I understand the transition from one to more than one (however, I am sure your house is a bit more hectic with TWO new ones)! My oldest was born in December also and having a birthday so close to Christmas has it's challenges...good luck with that! But it is a good kind of crazy fun.
Congrats again! You have a wonderful husband (as if you didn't know)...I always say that the reason I stayed active in the church is because of the fellowshiping my peers did for me when I was baptized. I didn't even know Ben when he showed up at my baptism to show love and support! It is something that I cherish! Give him a big hug and Thank You from me!
Have a wonderful time with those babies. I don't have to tell you that they grow up WAY too fast!
